In our data, Afternic lists the most domains for sale (4,930,265), followed by HugeDomains (3,227,739) and BuyDomains (516,273), while Afternic has the most names asking $100 or less (43,554). Median asks run from $458 at Gname to $9,995 at Efty, and published seller commissions run from 7.5% (Atom Standard listings) to 30% (Afternic Boost, and Atom Premium sales of $4,998 or less).

How many names each marketplace lists
We track 10,175,787 domains for sale across 15 marketplaces. Each listing is counted once, under the marketplace whose price we show for it, so a name listed in several places counts once. Marketplaces with fewer than 10,000 listings are left out of the charts.
What they ask
The median is the middle asking price: half of a marketplace's listings ask less, half ask more. It is a fairer comparison than an average, which a few very expensive names can pull up. Placeholder asks of $1 are left out, and so is NameShift, whose prices are not all in dollars.
Buying on a budget
97,111 listings ask $100 or less, and Afternic has the most of them (43,554). The share below is the part of each marketplace's priced listings at $100 or less. A low price says nothing about the name itself, so judge the name first. Our domains under $100 list puts them all in one place.

- Afternic: 25% (Basic) or 30% (Boost); 15% or 20% when the name uses GoDaddy Aftermarket nameservers; $15 minimum.
- Sedo: 10% for Buy Now on parked names, 15% for other Sedo marketplace sales, 20% through the SedoMLS network.
- Atom: 7.5% Standard, 15% Plus, 15% to 30% Premium listings by sale price.
- Dynadot: 10% of the sold price.
